The Domestic Violence Bill 2017 was debated at committee stage in the Seanad on November 28th and I was delighted to secure an amendment to the bill, co-sponsored by my colleague Independent Senator Frances Black.

I was delighted to table a successful amendment to the Mediation Bill 2017 during committee stage debate in Seanad Éireann on July 19th 2017. The policy intention of the amendment was to better safeguard the rights of victims of domestic abuse who may feel pressure
The Adoption (Amendment) Bill 2016 has passed its final stages in Dáil Éireann and will now go to President Higgins for his signature. The bill includes a new and crucial adoption policy change as a result of an amendment tabled by Independent Senator Lynn Ruane.

The debate on the Controlled Drugs & Harm Reduction Bill 2017 has been adjourned in Seanad Eireann. The passage of the bill to Committee Stage will now be postponed, pending the publication of the Government's expected National Drugs Strategy.
